Great Movies of the 70's

These are what we watched at the cinema when I was a teenager. No multiplexes then, just a choice of gallery or stalls. An usherette came round with ice creams and cold drinks. Plumes of curling cigarette smoke was caught in the light of the projection, great days, here's what we watched.

Bullitt, it came round for a 2nd viewing as a supporting movie, we flocked to see it.

  

A great way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Jaws, the scariest shark in the world, the first movie I took a girl to.

We had to sneak into this film, now it seems tame, then it was a worry.

 

I loved all the funny little noises he made, before he obliterated his enemies.

The first Vietnam movie I ever watched. I was as fascinated by the life in USA as I was with the Vietnam bits. Before, all movies were in New York or L.A.

I always had a problem with kids called Damien after this.

 

 We watched this at least 3 times at the Cinema, it just kept returning.A boys film, girlfriends not invited.

Funny Bicycles

On my travels last weekend I found this strange bicycle and took it's photo. I did hang about to see if it's owner would appear, but he was in a pub or something.

Wow! But never saw the owner. It wasn't locked, but who would steal this?

What was he thinking about? Well, don't ask.

I had to look twice at this.

Limo's are still fascinating for me, yet I've never been in one.

Harley Limo, or maybe Harley Rickshaw.

Redneck Limo, seriously!

More strange soldiers

Armies are supposed to be scary and deadly, but sometimes it doesn't look quite that way.

This is a must see!

Here's some Russians rushing off to collect long awaited new uniforms.

Iranian Army, trying to blend in, not sure quite what with. Maybe it's just another Dulux ad.

You can camouflage just about anything, but you can't always cover it up.

This is my favourite pic of all time.

It's a dogs life sometimes.

Italians always had a liking for uniforms. Pity they couldn't produce a good army.

I just wonder what the medals are for?

There's a shortage of helicopters in North Korea, so they're teaching soldiers to fly.

And the here's the Chinese learning aircraft recognition.


 Not sure what'a happening here. But I can guess.

Icebergs

Icebergs fascinate me. Beautiful but dangerous.

 I'm not sure where this is, but how did it get here!

I wonder if icebergs come in different flavors?

Icebergs have an internal temperature of approximately -15 to -20°C (5 to -4 °F)

 The tallest recorded iceberg, in the North Atlantic, was 168 metres (550 ft), much taller than this.

 

People who camp on icebergs are called Icebergers, sorry, I had to make do with a photoshopped image. Maybe they don't really exist.
